The norodrouve's role in the final infestations lasted a surprising decade and a half, placing it as one of the longest living of the walltown-confined strangers. With only a handful of scattered notes to infer its behaviour from, however, the sub-strain of the
norodrole remains as mysterious now as it must have seemed at the time. While its high-up perches made it an occasional guiding beacon for those mesmerized many far below, its near-unreachability protected it from the sensitive killers who became increasingly bloodthirsty towards the infestations' multitude as a whole.
If a living norodrouve had survived the
flood, and should it have reached the harvest-yard with all the other extruded strangers, its vivisectors would have found within its pearly floures an antidote to a number of modern and historical diseases, including many of those that
plagued the antediluvian mattress camps. Indeed, there is some irony to the norodrole's concurrence with the very same typhoid strains that made soggy and bestouled the northernmost prisons.
Of note, as well, is the norodrouve's role in the cataclysm itself. With such a high vantage point, it would have been one of the last witnesses to the crimson waves (barring the aerial strains and their eventual crumple). Primary sources reveal that it did not break its composure even as the spires and bridges crumbled, and dissolved within seconds once its post hit the water.

there is a brief pause.
It's funny how sometimes, the strangest things will really catch on. When I look at a design like this, it seems a pretty simple reversal, to me, in terms of making a sub-strain...instead of appearing in a group, you put it by itself...instead of having it underground, you put it up high...
But for whatever reason, there was a lot of fan art – particularly in the gijinka community. There were these two character designs in particular that were everywhere for about a month and a half – they were in all the tags. I think there might have been some backlash against them! But that wasn't anything to do with us, it wasn't anything official, you know.
another momentary pause.
Oh, hmm. the subject taps their left index finger on the desk. I just remembered something else – because of how popular the gijinka design was getting, the higher-ups wanted to edit the norodrouve into one of the promo posters for Matatown 2...but I think that the visual lead was getting really stingy with the usage rights, didn't want to give people the idea that we were endorsing this kind of thing. So it kind of fell through, and the records don't exist anymore, so...
the subject's demeanor shifts towards the sullen, and they close their eyes.
